Things you'll need:

  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Thin strip of paper or string

Instructions

  1. Wrap the paper or string around your finger where you want the ring to go.
  2. Mark the spot where the paper/string meets and measure the distance with your ruler.

Use the following chart to determine your ring size

U.S. Ring Size: 3 equals 1 47/64 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 4 equals 1 27/32 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 5 equals 1 15/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 6 equals 2 1/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 7 equals 2 3/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 8 equals 2 5/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 9 equals 2 7/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 10 equals 2 9/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 11 equals 2 11/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 12 equals 2 13/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 13 equals 2 15/16 inches
U.S. Ring Size: 14 equals 3 inches


Notes:

  • If you're between sizes, choose the larger size.
  • Measure your finger at the end of the day when they tend to be a bit more swollen
  • If your knuckle is much bigger than the base of your finger, measure both areas and find a size in between.
  • Avoid measuring fingers in cold weather as the cold causes shrinking.
  • Cold makes your fingers shrink, so try to measure your fingers in a comfortable temperature
  • Measure the size three or four times to be sure the measurements are accurate.
  • Fingers can swell from taking steroid-based medication or when pregnant. Thus, adjustments should be made accordingly.
